Affectionately known as "HOT SHOT" Reverend Willie Gene Lee, Sr. was born on March 22, 1938 in Shelby, Alabama to Ms. Parris Lee who was assisted by her parents; Clifton and Paralee Lee in his up-bringing. His education was earned in the Shelby County Public School System, and his employment was 30 plus years at Valley Mills Columbiana and after Valley Mills, he worked for Glidwell Foundry Calera for nearly 10 years. He was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church Shelby, Alabama where he served in the Deacon Ministry and later as Associate Pastor. Funeral service will be Sunday at noon at Providence Baptist Church Shelby, Pastor Reginald Mann will officiate with interment in Shelby Cemetery. His loving survivors are: devoted children; Mary (Gary) Burns, Brenda (Raymond) King and Willie (Daisy) Lee, Jr., his siblings; Leroy Maddox, Doris Cunningham, Dorothy Sue (Clarence) Harris and Martha (Bill) Brantley, nine grandchildren, eleven great gtandchildren and one great great grandchild, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in repose on Sunday (11th) from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at the church. Westside Funeral Home Calera Directing.
