Prentice James Wesley Blue was born on October 31, 1997 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Jimmy Wesley Blue and Lisa Denise Blue. PJ as he was affectionately known was educated in the Chilton County and Montgomery Public School System. After graduating from Park Crossing High School, he would attend the University of Louisville Cardinals on a full athletic scholarship. Prentice played under the leadership of Coach Bobby Petrino and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2020 with a degree in Communication. He was employed with the Birmingham City Public School System as a 5th Grade teacher at Barrett Elementary School. His students adored him, the staff loved him and they all called him “Coach Blue”. PJ will be remembered for his resilience, work ethic, leadership, and positive spirit. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 19, 2025, 12:00 PM at South Elyton Baptist Church (100 1st Street South 35205), with Pastor Reginald Brown, Officiating. PJ’s loving survivors are: brother, Christian Briscoe; sisters, Jamesia and Suzette Blue; grandfather, Lue (Helen) Jackson, Sr.; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
