Pearley L. Sanders (aka Chick) was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 5, 1928 to the late Allan and Mattie Dudley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Sanders, Sr.; one son, Eddie Sanders, Jr.; two brothers, Allan Dudley and Lewis Gardner; and four sisters, Mattie Lee Sanders, Elizabeth Gardner, Maggie Benjamin and Magnolia Dickerson.
She accepted Christ and became a member of Favor Community Church.
Family and friends describe Chick as strong-willed, independent and self-made. She was one who took everything in stride, was filled with laughter, loved her family, was a great listener, was smart, loved the Lord, was a friend and buddy, a lot of fun, tower of strength, always enjoyed family in a decent manner and was strong-minded.
Chick peacefully left this earthly realm on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Gloria Sanders and Edna (Jimmie) Cooks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Service of memory will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Westside Fairfield Chapel, Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 12 noon until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
