Mrs. Nettie Wilbur Barnes was the youngest of six children born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Mary Lee Barber Wilbur on June 5, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was educated in the Birmingham Public School System graduating from A. H. Parker High School class of 1955. She was married to Stanley Barnes, Sr. for 57 years, and to this union, four children were born. She was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist Church Fairfield where she served as Sunday School Teacher. Funeral Service will be Friday (8th) 11:00 AM at her beloved First Baptist Church Fairfield ( 324 - 59th Street 35064) Interim Pastor Larry Robbins officiating and Reverend Michael Wesley, Sr. Eulogist with interment in Dynasty Gardens. Her loving survivors are: devoted children; Barbara Carrington, Patricia DeLaine, Sandra (Johnny) Lee and Stanley (Catherine) Barnes, Jr., thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in repose on Thursday (7th) from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The family request that in lieu of flowers or gifts, monetary donations be made to First Baptist Church Fairfield Day Care. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
