Mrs. Odell "Sister" (Herndon) Vines

Odell Herndon Vines affectionatley known as "Sister"was born on September 13, 1927 in Calera, Alabama to Mr. and Mrs. Wendell and Rosie Marbury Herndon.  She was educated in the Shelby County Alabama Public School System and was a faithful member of the New Mount Moriah Baptist Church Calera where she served in several ministries of the church.  Funeral service will be Friday (23rd)  at 11:00 AM at her beloved New Mount Moriah Baptist Church (5798 US Hwy 31  35040) Pastor Michael Jones will officiate with interment in Alabama National Cemetery.  Her loving survivors are: devoted sons; Anthony (Phyllis) Vines, Joe Cepfus (Cora) Vines, Jr. and Eric (Myia) Vines, loving sisters; Katie Mae Burnice and Virenda Williams, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Her remains will lie in repose on Thursday from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  Westside Funeral Home Calera Directing.
