Mildred Delaine Black was a lifelong resident of Sumter County Alabama and lifelong member of Grants Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church located at (5290 Kinterbish 10 Cuba, Alabama 36907) where she served as Sunday School Teacher, member of the Stewardess Board, and sang in the Choir. She was a dedicated teacher with the Sumter County Board of Education for over forty years. Also, she was a member of the Pride of York # 667 Order of the Eastern Star. Service of memory will be Friday at 11:00 AM at her beloved Grants Chapel CME Pastor Izea Blanks, Jr. will officiate with interment in Cagus Cemetery Cuba, Alabama. She was married to the love of her life former Alabama State Representative Lucius Black, Sr. for sixty years and they were the parents of three sons; Urey, Lucius, Jr., and Don (Peggy), three grandchildren; Ebony, Dawn Kayla and Chad, siblings; Warren (Aligee) Delaine and Minnie Ruth Jemison, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in repose on Thursday from 3:00PM until 7:00PM at Weatherly Funeral Home York, Alabama. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
