Mary Barnett Alexander Anderson was born on May 20, 1946 in Selma, Alabama to the union of Arthur Lee and Phyllis White Alexander. She was educated in Dallas County, Alabama Public School System. After graduating from high school, Mary relocated to Birmingham, Alabama where she met and married Mr. Sterling Anderson, Sr. She was a former employee of the Birmingham Board of Education working at Powderly Elementary School. Funeral Services will be Friday (Feb 4th) 11:00 AM Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (2135 Jefferson Avenue SW 35211) Pastor Michael Wesley, Sr. will officiate with interment in Bright Memorial Gardens. Her loving survivors are: devoted children; Sterling Anderson, Jr., Terry Anderson, Amariah Anderson and Azariah Anderson, sister; Vera Alexander, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in repose on Thursday (Feb 3rd) from 1:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
