Marvin Edward Thomas was born on August 7, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late J.D. and Bertha Thomas to this union three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother. Marvin joined the St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church at an early age. He remained a faithful member until his eternal transition. He attended and graduated from Parker High School. Afterward, he was employed at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center for 30 years. Marvin made his transition on Thursday, January 10, 2018 at 11:56 PM at the Birmingham Nursing Rehabilitation Center. He leaves to cherish his memories one brother, Roy (Vira) Thomas, and host of friends. Service of Memory will be on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (3937 12th Avenue North Birmingham, Alabama 35234) Rev. Mishael Miller will officiate with interment in Dynasty Gardens. His remains will lie in repose at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
