Mrs. Mamie Lois Hamilton was born on December 3, 1940, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Lewis and Minerva Lee. She received her education through the Birmingham City Schools System and attended Ullman High School.
Devoting her professional life to the service of others, Mrs. Hamilton worked as a surgical technician at Brookwood Medical Center. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family and community left a lasting legacy. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and deep-rooted faith.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church (1625 Elm Street SW), with Reverend Dwight Peterson, officiating.
She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Roderick (Cynthia) Patterson Sr.; daughters, Bernita Patterson-Colvin, LaCretia Hamilton, Corletta (Carl) Powell and Sonya Hamilton; eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Hamilton’s remains will lie in repose on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Westside Funeral Home, Fairfield, Alabama.
