Leo was a native of Mississippi, and longtime resident of Jefferson County. He was retired from Birmingham Water Works Board after 46 years of service.. Service of memory will be Monday, September 10, 2018 at 1:00 PM Graveside Services at Highland Memorial Gardens (3115 18th Avenue Bessemer 35020). His remains will lie in repose on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at Westside Funeral Home Fairfield.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Ann Clark Cooper; one son, Leo Cooper, Jr.; four daughters, June (Wardell) Morris, Connie (Ronald, Sr.) Hatcher, Jacqueline (Anthony) Smoke and Cheryl Cooper; one brother, Charles (Sandra) McCaleb; four sister, Willie Mae McDonald, Johnnie Mae Cooper, Elizabeth Williams and Rose Marie (Gary) Napier; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
