She was a native of Wilcox County, Alabama, relocarting to Jefferson County, Alabama in her early years where she raised her family and continued her education. She was a teacher for the National Baptist Convention Foreign Mission Board teaching in countries around the world. A faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church Fairfield (400 Millstead Road 35064). Service of memory will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the church, Pastor O. C. Oden, Jr. will officiate with interment in George Washington Carver Memorial Park. Her loving survivors are; devoted children; Dr. Bruce A., Gerald E., Dr. Kenneth D. and Eric D. Williams, Brenda J(Jeffery) Scroggins, and Sandra G(Charles) Covington, sisters; June Williams, Evelyn Jenkins, Lola Wilson, Mattie Gee, and Reverend Mary Lee, twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. The remains will lie in repose on Friday from noon until 8:00 PM at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
