Josie was a lifelong resident of Birmingham, former employee of the University of Alabama Birmingham, and faithful member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church Pratt City (316 Avenue U 35214). Service of memory will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the church, Pastor Matthew V. Johnson, Sr. will officiate with interment in George Washington Carver Memorial Gardens. Her loving survivors are: devoted children; Michael Wright, Eddie Wright, James (Dorothea) Wright, Jr., Eugene (Katrice) Wright, Richard Wright, Annie (Andrew) Hatter and Myra (Lorenzo) Shamburger, siblings; Johnny (Roberta) Davis, Earnestine Matthews, Scharma Harris and Amanda Davis, thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Her remains will lie in repose on Thursday from noon until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
