Johnny Lee Nelson

Mr. Johnny L. Nelson was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 21,1937, to the late Evelyn Newton Nelson. He was educated by the Birmingham School System. He retired from the Birmingham Board of Education after 33 years of exceptional service. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Zion Hill Baptist Church. His loving survivors are his daughters Gwen Taylor and Shamieka Nelson, his son Terry (Valencia) Bates; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
