John Wesley Buchanan, Sr.

John Wesley Buchanan, Sr. affectionately known as "Uncle Buck" was born on February 22, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama to the parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver and Josie Jennings Buchanan.  He was a 1964 graduate of West  Field High School, and furthered his education at Alabama A & M University, and the University of Alabama Birmingham.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and former employee of United States Postal Service.  Service of Memory will be Saturday (19th) 2:00 PM Westside Funeral Chapel Fairfield with Brother John Hudson Officiating.  His loving survivors are: devoted wife; Nora Diane Buchanan, children; Kamilah Gray and John Wesley Buchanan, Jr., sisters; Sarah Buchanan Gilbert and Barbara  Buchanan (John) Hudson, granddaughters; Tyler, Kayla and Mya, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Family and Friends may begin gathering at 1:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral Home before the service.  Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
