Jessie Ryee Jones, Sr.

Jessie Ryee Jones, Sr. was born on February 22, 1934 in Linden, Alabama to the late Ishmael and Mamie Mack Jones.  Upon leaving Linden, Jessie relocated to Birmingham, Alabama where he joined the Macedonia Baptist Church Bessemer and remained a faithful member until death.  During his professional career, Jessie worked as a Police Officer for Roosevelt City, and in the Funeral Industry for over 50 years with local funeral homes.   Graveside Services will be saturday  1:00 PM at Highland Memorial Gardens with his Pastor Reverend Willie E. Scott officiating.  His loving survivors are: devoted and loving wife of 67 years; Estena Turner Jones, sons; Tyrone (Naomia) Jones and Jessie R. Jones, Jr., sisters; Mamie (Reverend) Walter) Carter and Bessie (John) Anderson, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  His remains will lie in repose on Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.  Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
