Eliza Watkins Delaine

Eliza Watkins Delaine was born on February 28, 1927 in Lisma, Alabama to Mr. and Mrs. Jocephus and Rena Grice Watkins.  At an early age, Eliza and her family moved to York, Alabama where she attended and graduated from Sumter County Training School Livingston, Alabama Class of 1945.  On October 15, 1949 Eliza married the love of her life, James M. Delaine and they became parents and raised their family in Cuba, Alabama.  She was a faithful member of Grants Chapel C.M.E. Church Cuba, Alabama and devoted member of  Pride of York #677 Order of Eastern Star.  Her love of cooking along with her excellent skill of cooking, enabled her to feed the children of Kinterbish School for over 40 years as Lunch Room Manager and Dietitian.  Funeral Services will be Saturday (April 1st) 12:00 PM at her beloved Grants Chapel C.M.E. Church Cuba (5290 Kinterbish #10  36907) with Pastor Izea Blanks, Jr. officiating and interment in Cagus Cemetery.  Her loving survivors are: devoted children; Burnetta Baskin, Jeanette Lowery, Gregory (Denise) Delaine, Cassandra (Bennie) Dixon, Katrina (Quintin) Barlow, and Derrick (Sheneda) Delaine, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren,  two great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and  friends.  Her remains will lie in repose on Friday (March 31st) from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at Weatherly Funeral Home York, Alabama.  Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
