He was a lifelong resident of Birmingham working for many years at Pullman Standard Corporation Bessemer until the plant closed. After Pullman Standard closed he began working for the City of Birmingham until his retirement. Graveside Service will be Saturday (6th) at noon at Elmwood Cemetery with Pastor Matthew B. Johnson officiating. His loving survivors are: children Edward Lee Torrence, Jr. and Frances Mingo, sister; Delois Torrence, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. A very special brother in law; Willie (Corinthia) Jackson.. His remains will lie in repose on Friday from noon until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
