Deacon Warren Clarence Delaine affectionately known as "Dub" or "WC" was born on October 2, 1936 in Cuba, Alabama to the proud parentage of Lawrence Levi and Joanna Ward Delaine. At a very early age he became a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cuba, Alabama where he remained a faithful member until his death. He was educated in the Sumter County Public School System and continued his education at Alabama A&M University. He worked for many years with his father and brothers at L.L. Delaine & Sons Construction Company building and remodeling both commercial and residential properties. After the death of his father, he formed Delaine Brothers Construction Company and continued the family legacy of providing affordable homes and businesses. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Zion Hill serving with the Sunday School, Choir, Trustee, Church Treasurer and Deacon Ministry. A celebration of his life will be Saturday (8th) 1:00 PM at his beloved Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor C. Wayne Davis officiating and interment in Cagus Cemetery. His loving survivors are: devoted granddaughter; Erica Delania Sykes, sister; Minnie Ruth Jemison, son; Rickey Delaine, devoted son-in-law; Nicholas "Nick" Slaughter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in repose on Thursday (6th) from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Westside Funeral Home Fairfield, and on Friday (7th) from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Weatherly Funeral Home York, Alabama.
