Lifelong resident of Shelby County, retired from Saginaw Lime Corporation, former employee of Wal-Mart, faithful member of New Mount Moriah Baptist Church Calera (5798 Anglewood Lane 35040). Service of memory will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the church, Pastor Michael Jones will officiate, Pastor Harry Jones eulogist with interment in Shelby Memory Gardens. His loving survivors are: devoted wife; Callie Hill Dowdell children; Keith (Detrice) Dowdell, Kathy Seay and Rhonda (Roderick) White, siblings; Robert Dowdell, Geneva Carnell, Delois Warren and Shirley (Billy) Mixon, twenty grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
