Darrell was a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He attended A.H. Parker High School. Service of Memory will be Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11 AM at the New Salem Baptist Church, (1632 Sixth Street North, Birmingham, AL.) Pastor Ronald Calhoun will officiate with burial in George Washington Carver Memorial Gardens. His loving survivors are: devoted wife of 22 years; Markitha Black, daughter; Taylor Black, two sons; Darrell Black, Jr. and Christon Black, mother, Brenda Black Craig, father; Cap (Elizabeth) Hunter sisters; Rakesia (Michael) Yeldell, Lisa Hunter, April Hunter and Kimberly Matt, brothers; Derrick Hunter and Donald (Darlene) Matt, special uncle, Larry (Angela) Black, Aunts, Retha Jean Black and Barbara Black, and a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
