Clarence was a native of Perry County, Alabama born to the proud parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin and Addie Speed Mahan, Sr. After high school he joined the U.S. Army, and then married the "love of his life" the former Lorene Brown. He was a dedicated employee of Alabama National Guard CSMS #2 in Cullman, Alabama for many years. He was a faithful member of I Care Christian Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Donald Square, Sr. Service of memory will be Wednesday (July 31, 2019) at 11:00 AM at his beloved I Care Christian Ministries (2241 Forestdale Blvd 35214) with Pastor Square officiating with interment in Alabama National Cemetery. His loving survivors are: devoted wife; Lorene Brown Mahan, sons; Reginald (Gayla), Marcus, and Walter (Aakre) Mahan, siblings; Melvin (Shirley) Jr., Jerry (Shirley), James (Henrietta) Benjamin, Curtis (Jackie), Diane, Bobbie (Ray) and Cynthia (Ernie), thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in repose on Tuesday from noon until 7:00 PM at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7:00 PM. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
