Amaiyh Ayonna Sumlin was born on March 7, 2002, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Shakeyla Sumlin and Jason Jones. She received her education through the Birmingham City School System and attended A.H. Parker High School, where she cultivated a deep love for learning and formed enduring friendships.
In her professional life, Amaiyh was recognized for her dedication, integrity, and warmth. She was employed as a booth attendant at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC), where her friendly demeanor and unwavering commitment left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of encountering her.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Amaiyh will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Westside Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Roland E. Walker, officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Westside Funeral Home in Fairfield, Alabama.
Amaiyh leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Royal Amir Brown; her devoted mother, Shakeyla Sumlin; her father, Jason Jones; her brothers, Ajayland Jones, Amarion Sumlin, and Armontrey Sumlin; her grandmother, Donna Sumlin; her grandfather, Steve Tellis; her fiancé, Rodarious Brown; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Her presence, though brief, was a blessing to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
